Magna Carta Day 2018

Our ongoing annual event marking the anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta at Runnymede being a major part of the heritage and cultural identity of Surrey, is to take place on Saturday 16th June this year.

We are planning a full and varied programme of events with performances by many local entertainers.

The day will run from 11am to 4pm and we are planning a very full and varied entertainment programme throughout the day on two stages: outside Tesco and outside National Westminster Bank.

You can set up your stall any time from 7am onwards but please note that all cars must be moved off the High Street by 10.30am. The stall space allocated will be approximately 3m x 3m (ie standard gazebo size) although larger spaces are available by prior arrangement. You will need to supply your own gazebo, table, chairs etc although we do have a limited number of gazebos available to hire for a nominal cost of £10 each. You will also need to have relevant Public Liability Insurance for a minimum of £5m. Please dispose of all your rubbish before leaving.

I will do my best to accommodate your preferred site for your stall but am sure you will understand should this not be possible. It is important that the High Street shop owners do not delay booking so that, where possible, they may be allocated space outside their own premises.

Due to the potential redevelopment of Station Road North by the local authority we will only be using the High Street this year. As such, demand for stall space will be high and will be allocated on a “first come first served” basis. Accordingly I enclose a booking form which please complete and return to me with your cheque (payable to Magna Carta Day) as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. If you wish to pay by bank transfer the details are on the booking form.
